It is no secret that I am a fan of Black and white. There is something about the simple base of it that allows my crazy personality to change it around every week. And I mean e.v.e.r.y week. It drives the husband insane. With black and white, it is about textures and patterns. Creating depth so it is no flat and boring. Plus when you can get great cushions like these from Studio 6, how can you go wrong. You can have so much fun with shapes and lines. It lends itself to so many personalities. It’s really up to you. So go for gold…or black and white. Go on, I bet you’ll love it.

Terrific Terrarium Workshop at Studio 46 Last week I along with some very lovely ladies had the absolute pleasure of attending Annie Oxborough’s gorgeous Terrific Terrarium workshop at Studio 46. Where Annie showed everyone how to create a beautiful terrarium before our lovely guests made their own gorgeous terrariums to take home – along with a bag full of goodies from MOR Cosmetics, All’anticaMade From ScratchHome Style Magazine, and Annie O. The whole evening was so wonderful, I can’t wait to host my Ruffle Cake class next week before the gorgeous Mid Winter Christmas workshop at Studio 46, they’re both going to be so gorgeous – if you’d like to attend either of the workshops, be sure to email hello@studio46.co.nz for more information. If you’d like to see what happens at one of our gorgeous workshops, be sure to take a peek at this stunning video! x

I love me some bohemian goodness. Nothing to take you back to easy of summer and it’s adventures .

But boho isn’t just for the warmer months.

The trick to Bohemian at home is layers. Layer and layer and layer some more, rugs over rugs, cushions, throws, vases and plants. Play with textures and patterns, rich fabrics and shapes. The same goes for the outfit. A mashing of fabrics against hard metal, elaborate pieces and interesting textures. Chucking a coat over top and you are good to go. Keep the whimsy all year round.

Oh you bohemians, you sure now how to layer.

Go over here to see who was my babe’n boho muse.

The-Great-Gatsby-

Over the weekend my hubby and I went to see The Great Gatsby, and I adored every second of it! I’ve been a huge fan of Baz Luhrmann’s films since Strictly Ballroom, and The Great Gatsby really is everything you’d expect from one of his beautiful films – an absolutely indulgent feast for the eyes, where anything and everything is possible and everyone is of course perfectly dressed. If you haven’t seen The Great Gatsby yet you really must, it is so beautiful, so beautiful in fact that I think I need to add a little 1920′s art deco to our home and my wardrobe some how! x

Pumpkin Pie

4 Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing weekend – ours was a lovely lazy winter weekend of doing nothing really, oh and creating lovely new walls of art! I’m really enjoying the slow pace that winter brings with it, it’s the perfect excuse to stay inside watch movies, re decorate and of course bake something delicious! I have to admit I’d never tried or made a pumpkin pie before so I sort of made this recipe up along the way and nervously took it to a family dinner (where thankfully everyone loved it!) It’s wonderfully silky, not too sweet and the perfect comfort dessert – everything a winter pie should be really! x
