Our Honeymoon: Osaka, Japan

Today is our last official day on our honeymoon in Japan. Its a little sad, but ok as we’ve had the most wonderful time and are looking forward to getting home and catching up with our friends and family.

Yesterday we went to the famous Himeji Castle, which is said to be the most beautiful castle in all of Japan. We arrived to find it completely covered in scaffolding and we were told that by 2014 it will be covered by a concrete box to preserve it. We met a very annoyed Frenchman who had traveled to Japan just to see this castle. Aside from the scaffolding, we had a lovely time there and were shown around by the sweetest lady who told us the coolest stories about the castle.

Seeing as today is our last full day in Japan we thought we should do what Ben and I tend to do in almost every country we go to. Go to a zoo! We didn’t go to a zoo, instead we went to the Osaka Aquarium that is home to two huge whale sharks, and tonnes of other colourful fish. The tank is 35m long and 9m deep, and it took us about 4 hours of walking and sitting to get around the whole place. It was brilliant!

So tomorrow we will be flying home, and Made From Scratch will be a daily blog again as of Monday, something I’m really excited about. I have so many things that I want to share about our wedding, more so for me to re-live it a little more. It was the best day and I wish it never ever ended.

But for now, it’s the end of our gorgeous honeymoon!
