pasta

I hope everyone is having a lovely day so far, at the start of the week I got a shiny new kitchen appliance  - the very cute yet incredibly powerful KitchenAid Artisan Food Chopper! I’ve been running around all day so wanted to make a really quick yet tasty lunch, and of course take my lovely new food chopper for a little spin. I whipped up the most delicious breaded sundried tomato pesto pasta – it’s a fantastic recipe as you can of course make as much or as little of it as you like. I can’t wait to make more delicious pestos, sauces and tasty treats with the food chopper, all of which I will share – I’d love to hear of any recipe suggestions. x

Beer Can Chicken | Made From Scratch

I love lazy summer days, especially when they end with a delicious BBQ, drinks and wonderful company. The other night we had out good friends Emma and Mike over for dinner, they’d told me about beer can chicken before – it sounded so weird that I thought it was  a joke, but nope it’s a very real and very delicious meal! So they came over one amazing summer evening and we made beer can chicken for dinner, all I can say is that if you haven’t had the pleasure of trying this dish, it will quickly become your favourite BBQ chicken recipe – so much so that I don’t think I’ll do a roast chicken any other way now! If there is anything that you try over the summer holidays, delicious beer can chicken should certainly be at the top of your list! x

These lovely crisp Autumn day’s are the perfect time to hone your soup making skills before Winter arrives. I personally can’t think of anything better or more comforting than curling up with a warm bowl of home made soup, what’s better is the list of soups to make is endless. This pumpkin soup is a tweaked version of my Mum’s recipe, I adore this recipe as it is so easy and always tastes amazing.

Yesterday was such a gloomy autumn day, so I thought that I would make a little comfort food. I have always had a soft spot for scalloped potatoes but hadn’t made them as Ben isn’t really a fan of cream and cheese {I know right!} I had no idea until a few weeks ago when he ordered it as a side dish at my birthday dinner. I was blown away that he likes this dish, which is great as its so easy and can be made with everyday ingredients but most of all it is so delicious!

Also make sure you keep an eye out on Facebook tonight where I will draw the lucky winner for the $50 Groupon voucher. x

Its rather nice when its just Mum and I home for dinner, we both love our pasta but our lovely men don’t as much. Mum has made this pasta dish for as long as I can remember and its always so deliciously bad for you! It’s certainly a dish that you only have on rather special occasions or cold rainy days like today. x

No matter how good a cook you or your partner may be, Mum will always be better at her signature dish. My Mum’s lasagna is incredible, there is honestly nothing better than pottering in the kitchen with her helping make such a simple and oh so delicious meal that everyone loves. What’s your favourite dish that your gorgeous Mum makes?

I love lazy summer evenings, what makes them even better is good food! Ben made the most delicious Salmon Platter and I baked a whole lot of Apple and Mixed Berry Muffins. We then got comfy and watched The Lord of the Rings, its very cool watching it now that we’ve been to Hobbiton and seen the stunning set design! I hope everyone is having a lovely and lazy weekend!
