hobbiton

I have been getting a lot of emails asking what my surprise was over the weekend. Ben woke me early Sunday morning and we then started driving South, first I thought we were going to Hamilton to see a friend and then we passed Hamilton and I thought maybe were going strawberry picking, I worked out that wasn’t it as there are heaps of strawberry fields alot closer than Cambridge.

We drove though some incredibly beautiful farm lands, finally we turned a small corner and ended up in Hobbiton! I couldn’t believe it, Ben and I don’t really do ‘touristy’ stuff in New Zealand but this was the most wonderful surprise! It has been completely rebuilt for “The Hobbit” which is why I am sadly not allowed to show any pictures as its a working film set, but I can tell you that the detail and workmanship is stunning, we have never seen anything like it before. If your interested in going, and you defiantly should, you have one month until filming begins its well worth the visit!
