Never Fail Pizza Dough

Happy friday everyone, wow what a wonderful week it has been yet I am very happy that the weekend has arrived. Every sunday our family has pizza night at my mum’s, it’s been a tradition we’ve had for years now and its the best way to end a week and start a new one. My Mum has perfected the art of homemade pizza dough, it is perfect every single time without fail plus its ridiculously easy to make. If you’ve never made your own pizza dough, maybe this is the weekend to try it. x

Never Fail Pizza Dough

2 cups plain flour

1 cup of warm water

1 sachet of instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

Place yeast and sugar into a large bowl, pour warm water over and allow to sit in a warm place for around half an hour, or until yeast mixture has doubled or tripled in size. Add flour and mix with an electric mixer {dough hook attached} or slowly by hand or until combined and the dough starts to form a ball. Allow dough to rise in the bowl covered with a clean tea towel in a warm spot for around half and hour {more is better}. Scoop dough out onto a well floured bench top and knead into a smooth ball, divide into sections and roll out thinly.

Now comes the fun part, the wonderful thing about pizza is that pretty much anything goes. After traveling through Italy, I’m a big believer that pizza’s should be as simple as possible and made with made 3-4 main ingredients. But that’s just me, my hubby and family enjoy putting a lot more toppings on, and that’s the wonderful thing about pizza you can have it however you like. Once your pizza’s are made cook in a mod-high temp oven for around 20-30min or until cheese has melted. x
