This year has easily been one of the busiest years for us, it’s just been so unbelievably manic – which is why this Christmas I’m loving the idea of simple yet wonderfully delicious treats using some of the best ingredients that summer has to offer, delicious fresh strawberries, Tip Top’s Strawberries and Cream Ice Cream and of course crispy brandy snap baskets that only ever appear around Christmas. Combine all of these wonderful ingredients together and you quickly have the most delicious ice cream tartlets to serve for your guests – they’re the perfect treat for a lovely summer afternoon and would be stunning served with a slice of delicious Christmas Ice Cream Cake. x

Happy Monday everyone, how perfect was the weather over the weekend? I hope you were all able to get outside and enjoy it. I’m so excited to share this wonderfully simple and incredibly delicious Chocolate and Peanut Butter Tart with you all – I shared it a while ago on the gorgeous Hello May blog and have been wanting to share it with you since. It would be perfect to serve along side some delicious ice cream or fresh strawberries this festive season. x

Happy Friday everyone, and what an absolutely stunning Friday it is! I’m so so exciting about the upcoming Summer holidays, Ben is less than two weeks away from his MBA which means for the first time in two years we’re going to be able to enjoy summer, go to the beach and catch up with our friends and travel a little – we can’t wait! So I thought in celebration of the beautiful weather that we’ve been having lately (and will hopefully have all summer) I thought I would do a little roundup of a few of my summer essentials, I’ve shared a little peek of my favourites on Instagram here. There really is nothing more wonderful than a good book, large cozy beach towel, chic sunglasses, pretty nail polish, a beautiful new bikini, bright jewellery, suncream (I’ve become completely obsessed with Nivea’s new light feel suncream, I’m so fair that I have to wear suncream all the time and their range is fantastic!) and of course a breathtakingly beautiful spot on a beach with your friends to help create the perfect summer! I hope everyone has something wonderful planned for the weekend, I’m off to the beach with my hubby! x

With Summer well and truly here and Christmas just around the corner I’ve been dream up delicious things that I can make for our family for Christmas day. I’ve always found the idea of Christmas pudding on a hot summers day just a little too much, they’re absolutely amazing just a little too much especially after being in a warm kitchen all day. So I thought what could be more perfect than a Christmas Ice Cream Cake, generously filled with some of the very best ingredients that New Zealand has to offer – classic Vanilla Tip Top Ice Cream, Heilala Vanilla Bean Paste, Whittakers White Chocolate and Fresh As Raspberries atop a delicious gingernut biscuit base really does make for the most perfect combination of flavours and gorgeous summer colours. This wonderfully simple and beautiful ice cream cake really would be the most perfect dessert for any celebration this summer. x

Before we bought our home (please excuse the terribly out of date photos!) in 2011, Ben and I lived in the cutest (but coldest) little apartment in the city – we had such a fantastic time living right in the middle of Ponsonby and being able to wander to shops, cafes and restaurants whenever we wanted, plus having all our friends live close by was so wonderful. We absolutely adore our home and we’re so proud of what we’ve done to it, but we still talk about the ‘ease’ of living in an apartment sometimes – which quickly turns into dreaming about said apartment having to be in either New York, Paris or Sydney. I stumbled upon this beautiful Stockholm apartment via Coco Lapine Design a while ago and have been completely smitten with it – I adore the light and how simple and tidy everything with soft touches of gold, white and navy. It really does show that you don’t need a lot of space to have a beautiful home. x

Plus the most exciting thing of all, Christmas is on it’s way, you start getting into the mood for the silly season quite quickly once the weather starts to warm up. One of my all time favourite blogs A Beach Cottage is running the most beautiful Love Your Christmas Home series – Sarah has some absolutely stunning and incredibly helpful tips and tricks to help you through this magical silly season. I also guarantee you’ll end up spending all day admiring her beautiful home and quickly becoming obsessed with her instagram feed – be sure to have a peek at both, her style is absolutely to die for! I already have so many lovely ideas from Sarah’s beautiful blog for Christmas this year – I’d love to hear your plans for this year. x

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely week. With summer well and truly almost here all I feel like doing in the kitchen is whipping up incredibly simple recipes to enjoy in the warm sun. After a big clean up in the kitchen the other day I found our milkshake maker that was gifted to us at our wedding, we served milkshakes at our wedding so we’ve a bit of a soft spot for them, so decided I had to whip up a few for us. My only annoyance with milkshakes is that have to have quite a few things to make a truly amazing one – you know like good quality chocolate, ice cream, chocolate sauce, etc. On a recent trip to the dairy Ben grabbed a small and absolutely divine tub of Tip Top’s Crammed Choc Eruption - have you had it yet, do, it’s amazing! Anyway we thought it would be perfect for a milkshake because not only is the ice-cream divine but it has delicious chocolate sauce and chunks of brownies already nestled into it – we were right, it’s probably one of the best milkshakes we’ve ever tried and the best part is that we now only need two ingredients to make a truly amazing class chocolate milkshake! x
