Pastel-Blooms-Moodboard Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely week! The incredibly sweet ProFlowers asked me to put together a little mood board of my favourite floral trend at the moment – I can’t remember the last time I made mood board (they’re so pretty and so much fun, I think I’m going to have to get back into the habit!) and I’m having a little crush on pastels at the moment. So I thought a beautiful pastel mood board was the perfect way to celebrate the end of a lovely week, plus Im yet to meet anyone who doesn’t have soft spot for a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I hope you all have a truly magical weekend planned, I’m off to buy a pretty selection of flowers for our home. x

valentine-gift-guide Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely day off yesterday to celebrate Waitangi Day. I haven’t done a little round up of my new favourite items for a while, so I thought there is no time like the present and of course with Valentines Day just around the corner it’s always nice to gather ideas for your loved one – or of course your self! I couldn’t think of anything more perfect than celebrating the end of the working week than with a chic selection of beautiful jewellery, beauty, home decor, clutches, must have hair products – I have to admit I’m slightly obsessed with the new Remington Keratin Straighter, I’ve wonderfully thick, curly hair and this beauty carefully glides through my hair with such easy that I’ve soft straight hair in no time… which of course is incredibly helpful for a windy day like today! I hope everyone has a truly wonderful day planned and of course, you can never go wrong with a bunch of freshly picked flowers for your love this Valentines Day. xo

Phew, Happy Friday everyone I hope you’ve all had a truly wonderful week so far. Ours has been out of control busy with work, bathroom renovations and trying to keep the settling jib dust away from the rest of our home. Last weekend before the madness of ripping down walls started, I whipped up the most delicious batch of Blueberry pancakes – it’s something that simply had to be done as we’re experiencing the most stunning blueberry season at the moment! These incredibly simple and delicious pancakes were such a hit that I think I’m going to have to make them again as they really are so perfect for lazy weekend brunches. I hope you have a lovely weekend planned, and fingers crossed we’ll be able to share the finished product of our bathroom very soon. x

Merry-Christmas Happy Friday everyone, oh my gosh I’m so excited that today is the last working day for 2013 and Christmas is just around the corner – it really is the most wonderful time of the year! 2013 has been an absolute whirlwind ride for Ben and I – it’s been so amazing in so many ways and so hard at the same time. This year bought us so many wonderful adventures, from little weekends away to Sydney, workshops, growing Made From Scratch, beautiful weddings, and so many other lovely things that make up a year. One that will forever make my heart swell with pride is Ben finishing his MBA, he really is beyond amazing and I’ll never be able to put into words how proud I am of what he’s achieved. Through all the highs this year Ben and I have had quite a difficult time personally, I’m not sure if I’m ready to talk about it on here as Made From Scratch is and always will be my lovely little slice of the heaven where I’m truly honoured and so lucky to be able to share with you things that inspire me – one day I might get there as it’s something that I would like to share, but once I do I won’t be able to hide away from it again, so we will see.

But for now, we’re looking forward to three blissful weeks of holiday – this is my first ever holiday away from the blog in three years, I’m beyond excited and a little terrified at the same time. After such a busy year we really need a little time out to process everything, spend some time together and with our beautiful friends and family, drink a few frozen mojitos and enjoy everything that New Zealand has to offer during summer – I will still be on sharing beautiful pictures on instagram and pinterest throughout our summer holiday though. I want to thank you all so so much for everything this year, you truly have no idea how much your beautiful comments, likes, shares and constant support of my work means to me – I really do have the best job in the world and I have all of you to thank for that! From my cute family to yours, I wish you all a very very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I’ll be back blogging on Monday the 13th of January 2014 where I already can’t wait to share some of our plans for the new year. Until then have a wonderful Christmas Holiday everyone, and again thank you so very much for everything. xo

Made From Scratch's Gift Guide For Him

With two weeks until Christmas Day, so so excited about this, I thought I would share my gift guide for the dapper man in your life. I’ve stopped asking my hubby, dad, father in law and brothers what they would like as their answer is normally ‘nothing’ – which of course is never helpful. It’s a good thing that I’ve always loved gift hunting for guys as there really are so many beautiful and almost endless items out there – plus I’m yet to meet any man that wouldn’t adore a beautiful watch, small leather goods or of course a good bottle of whisky here and there. And if all else fails a remote control car or new power tool will always work too. Happy Christmas shopping everyone. x

I’m so so so excited that December starts this weekend – it in a way gives you permission that you’re able to dive head first into celebrating Christmas, start decorating your home and of course start planning your table setting. I stumbled upon this absolutely stunning holiday table by Apartment 34 the other day and fell head over heels in love with it – it’s so perfect, incredibly inviting and of course Erin’s words of advice for table styling this festive season couldn’t be more perfect…

“I say there’s no need to dust off {or even own!} fancy china. Leave the crystal in the cabinet and don’t cry over your incomplete set of glasses. I’m all about taking the mix-and-match approach for your holiday tabletop. I want to create a comfortable and carefree vibe that invites people to loosen their collars, roll up their sleeves and dig in!”

You simply must take a peek at her beautiful blog to see more of this absolutely stunning Ultimate Holiday Table by Apartment 34, no doubt it will give you so many ideas for how you’d like to style your Christmas table this year. x

6 Before we bought our home (please excuse the terribly out of date photos!) in 2011, Ben and I lived in the cutest (but coldest) little apartment in the city – we had such a fantastic time living right in the middle of Ponsonby and being able to wander to shops, cafes and restaurants whenever we wanted, plus having all our friends live close by was so wonderful. We absolutely adore our home and we’re so proud of what we’ve done to it, but we still talk about the ‘ease’ of living in an apartment sometimes – which quickly turns into dreaming about said apartment having to be in either New York, Paris or Sydney. I stumbled upon this beautiful Stockholm apartment via Coco Lapine Design a while ago and have been completely smitten with it – I adore the light and how simple and tidy everything with soft touches of gold, white and navy. It really does show that you don’t need a lot of space to have a beautiful home. x
