I always find that Monday is the busiest day of the week, it’s a wonderfully manic day of catching up on emails, lovely social media comments, planning meetings and of course what I want to share on Made From Scratch. I’ve been asked by a few lovely ladies who have their own blogs what sort of ‘tips and tricks’ I have to keep on top of everything – for me, planning is key. And lists, I love to write lists. I’m known to have a notebook in every handbag, room in our house and at least two in the car at all times for whenever inspiration strikes. I also keep a “working document’ close by so that I can take look over it at the start of the week so that I know what projects I’m working on and what I have to do. It contains lists of ideas, people to get in touch with and who I am working with so that I never loose track of what’s going on – it takes a little time to set up but once it is, you’ll find it incredibly helpful.

Below is a small list of my favourite time management tools that help me stay sane, even on the busiest of days and above is a beautiful round up of some of my favourite office and paper goods to keep me inspired. I’d love to hear from anyone that does run their own business and what tips, tricks and tools you use to keep on top of everything. I hope everyone has a lovely and productive week planned. x

Evernote: a truly brilliant online note keeping tool that helps you make notebooks, save images and create notes and to do lists, plus the best part it links to all of your devices!

Trello: My husband introduced me to this amazing online project management tool a a little while ago – it’s all about creating list’s for projects that you’re working on and cards for anything involved in that project. For example, I have a Made From Scratch board, and a list for blog post ideas and then cards inside that board cards for any new ideas I come up with. It’s so helpful and I wish I’d found it sooner!

Reminders: I use the reminders app on my iPhone for anything I need to do/remember. It’s a great place to quickly type things that you need to do, and it’s so handy that you can set a location reminder! It’s one of the most used apps on my phone and I love it.

VSCO: it’s not really a time management tool, but I use it to take, and keep, all the photos that I plan to share on instagram - you’d be surprised how much time it will save you knowing that all your photos are in one place and you don’t have to trawl through the countless photos on your phone.

I hope these tips help a little with planning your day, I’d love to hear of how you manage your time best. x

One of my absolute favourite parts about blogging is being able to stumble upon and admire the way that others style and design their home, and then of course share it with all of you. This lovely Melbourne home is one of those that will quickly inspire you to either redecorate a room, add some mismatched pattern into a bathroom or go on a massive cleaning spree – either way, it’s absolutely beautiful and such a stunning home. I love the blonde wood cabinets in the black white bathroom paired with a strong patterned tile on the floor, it’s just perfect. And of course the all white kitchen with the circle thumb nooks to open the draws – it’s such a clever idea and such a clean look. One of the things that we’re really wanting to achieve in our next home that we renovate is to add a more texture through wooden panelling on the walls, beautiful tiles and different materials throughout the home – and this beautiful Melbourne home that I spotted on Share Design is a lovely place to start daydreaming of out next reno. x

There really is nothing more perfect than a slice, or two, of delicious chocolate and coffee cake topped with heavenly caramel buttercream?! I had the absolute honour and so much fun baking this cake with my amazing friend Emma from The Feature Wall last week for the opening of her brothers stunning new cafe bar, Deluxe. Emma and I had such a lovely afternoon/evening adapting Annabel Langbein’s stunning Ultimate Chocolate Cake Recipe and creating a beautiful two tier exposed layer cake that would be perfect for any celebration! If you’re out and about in Mt Roskill you really must take a peek at this fantastic new coffee bar that’s serving some of the best coffees in Auckland! I hope you have a lovely week planned, I’d love to know what you think of this cake if you give it a try. x

With these truly beautiful, but bitterly cold winters days we’ve been having lately I’ve already started day dreaming for warmer days and delicious outdoor parties. You may remember a little while ago that I mentioned that Lauren has so kindly been sharing a few of my recipes on her beautiful blog – so I thought I’d return the favour today and share one of the most beautiful outdoor parties you’ll see all season. Her backyard bistro truly is everything you’d want from a stunning outdoor celebration, or wedding, with your closets friends and family, the styling, delicious food and attention to detail is so lovely and I already can’t wait for summer to arrive. Be sure to take a peek at the rest of this stunning backyard bistro here. x

One of hidden challenges of working for yourself are the days when you completely run out of inspiration – it would be hugely unfair of me to say that creating something to share every day is easy… sometimes is just isn’t. Yesterday was one of those days for me, until I stumbled upon this magical image and my day where everything that was hard and ‘boring’ stopped in an instant. Sara Medina’s absolutely stunning blog and instagram feed is one of those that is so beautiful it instantly cleans away all the doubts and worry and replaces it with that magic creative spark that you were so worried you’d lost. I’ve no doubt that you’ll quickly fall in love with Sara’s clean elegant style, where perfect natural light and clean crisp white, soft greys and delicate blush tones rule throughout our her beautiful photography – her work is absolute heaven, and I’m now dreaming of moving to Stockholm and living in a beautiful all white apartment! I hope everyone has a lovely day planned, I’d love to hear what inspires you on ‘blah’ days. x

be sure to follow Sara’s beautiful blog, instagram and pinterest – they’re beyond divine!

I don’t think there is a woman alive who wouldn’t dream of having a beautiful walk in wardrobe, the extra storage space and a being able to lay everything out perfectly – and have a wall of shoes like this really would be a dream come true. Very good friends of ours are currently in the process of creating a beautiful walk in wardrobe, and in turn has inspired me to look out our wardrobes a little better and try and organise them as well as we can, so I thought I’d share a little winter wardrobe inspiration for this weekend as I plan on having a massive clean out in our wardrobe and try and work out how to create a space just for my shoes! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend planned, be sure to keep an eye out on the blog tomorrow, I’ve a delicious new recipe to share with you x

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a really lovely weekend! It feels like such a long time since I shared a wedding on the blog, so I thought what could be a better way to start a new week than with this truly stunning diy wedding that was photographed by the very talented and lovely Anna Allport.  This gorgeous rustic farm wedding was held at the brides beautiful family farm in Pataruru –  where everything from the hand made invites, vintage furniture, crockery, and even the caravan was carefully hand picked and collected for their special day! I’ve always found those hand chosen pieces make your wedding day so special. I hope everyone has a lovely week planned, and of course, be sure to take a peek at the rest of this beautiful wedding here. It’s too perfect for words. x
