Here is a little sneak peak of what’s in the latest summer issue, if you haven’t gotten it, you must, it’s busting at the seams with beautiful wedding inspiration! x

A couple of weeks ago I had the absolute honour and pleasure of making three delicious cakes for Anneke and Mau’s wedding! I loved that their colour theme was peach and white but that they also wanted a rustic feel to it – that’s where the yummy exposed banana cake came in! Congratulations Anneke and Mau on you’re beautiful wedding day and again thank you so very much for letting me be apart of your special day. x
Petal Layer Cake | Ruffle Layer Cake | Banana Layer Cake with Salted Caramel Buttercream

I never ever used to like banana cake, probably because I don’t really like banana’s but once I started baking banana cake I now absolutely adore it – although I’m still not a fan of bananas, strange I know! A couple of weeks ago I was honoured enough to make this lovely little 6″ layer cake for a wedding – more about that to come, I promise! The lovely bride wanted something a little more rustic to go with the two other cakes so that’s how we came up with this – I love how simple yet striking exposed layer cakes are, they’re just so lovely and of course delicious with a generous drizzle of caramel sauce on top it’s just too perfect for words!

Happy Friday everyone, I’m beyond thrilled that the weekend is finally here. It’s been a pretty crazy week and Ben and I are really looking forward to a little time off. If you have some time over the weekend I highly recommend whipping up a mouth watering batch of Caramel and Walnut Brioche’s they are ideal for brunch or thrown into a picnic basket for a winter picnic. I’d love to know what you have planned for the weekend.x

Oh my winter is well and truly here, the days are dark, gloomy and cold so it’s the perfect time to cook and bake winter meals to warm you up. The other night we had some very good friends over for a hearty winters meal followed by a not so traditional (but equally delicious) Gingerbread Sticky Toffee Pudding generously served with warm caramel sauce. It was the perfect way to end the meal and keep us toasty and warm on a cold winter’s night. x

Good morning everyone, how is your weekend going so far? I hope it is nice and relaxing and filled with good food and friends. I thought that I would mix things up a little for brunch this morning, Ben normally makes delicious poached eggs on toast but he’s a little busy with uni work – so I made brioche french toast with homemade caramel sauce. It is probably the sweetest but most delicious way to start your morning, both of us were muttering between mouthfuls that it tastes like a warm doughnut – delish!
