Pastel-Blooms-Moodboard Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely week! The incredibly sweet ProFlowers asked me to put together a little mood board of my favourite floral trend at the moment – I can’t remember the last time I made mood board (they’re so pretty and so much fun, I think I’m going to have to get back into the habit!) and I’m having a little crush on pastels at the moment. So I thought a beautiful pastel mood board was the perfect way to celebrate the end of a lovely week, plus Im yet to meet anyone who doesn’t have soft spot for a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I hope you all have a truly magical weekend planned, I’m off to buy a pretty selection of flowers for our home. x

Made with Tip Top Ice Creams classic French Vanilla this lovely Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Cheesecake really would be the perfect end to any romantic meal you have planned for this weekend – or of course after any meal, it’s so deliciously simple I have no doubt you’ll make it again and again. I hope everyone has something lovely planned with their beloved this Valentines Day. x

IMG_1378 Summer and ice cream really do go hand in hand – it’s just so delicious, wonderfully refreshing and always a crowd pleaser. I’m struggling to bring myself to bake anything at the moment, mostly because it just seems weird to be baking on a warm summers day, plus there is something so wonderful about whipping up a dessert that takes no time at all to prepare. This stunning slice is one of those desserts, and of course there really is something so magical about paring classic Tip Top Hokey Pokey with vanilla infused grilled peaches – this simple dessert really is perfect for summer, and of course to whip up for a any last minute Waitangi Day celebrations tomorrow. x

A little while ago there was some very excited murmuring around the home decor world that Nest was retuning, and thank goodness the rumours were true because this iconic New Zealand homewares shop has re-opened their beautiful and well styled doors to a very excited fan base. We were lucky enough to have our wedding registry with Nest and I’m beyond thrilled that their back and of course stocking some of the most beautiful kitchen, serveware and of course linen – their classic, beachy, and forever stylish range really is something that will last a lifetime – plus I’m a tiny bit obsesses, with their new enamel and ceramic ranges, they’re beyond stunning! For those who were a fan, you’ll be pleased to know that their beautiful new store is open in Newton, Auckland, otherwise you can of course shop online and admire their beautiful lookbook! It’s so so wonderful to have you back Nest. x

Over the weekend I shared a few delicious sneak peeks of this gorgeous Black Doris Plum and Vanilla Layer Cake that I made for Ben’s Nana’s 90th Birthday party – which of course you can see here and here if you missed them. And as promised, I’m so thrilled to share my new recipe for one of the most delicious cakes I’ve made in a while. The vanilla soaked sweetness and sometimes tartness of the plums work so perfectly with this delicate vanilla cake and icing – the best part is this gorgeous summer cake is wonderfully simple to prepare, ridiculously pretty and will quickly become a crowd favourite at your next celebration. I hope you enjoy it as much our family did. x

Merry-Christmas Happy Friday everyone, oh my gosh I’m so excited that today is the last working day for 2013 and Christmas is just around the corner – it really is the most wonderful time of the year! 2013 has been an absolute whirlwind ride for Ben and I – it’s been so amazing in so many ways and so hard at the same time. This year bought us so many wonderful adventures, from little weekends away to Sydney, workshops, growing Made From Scratch, beautiful weddings, and so many other lovely things that make up a year. One that will forever make my heart swell with pride is Ben finishing his MBA, he really is beyond amazing and I’ll never be able to put into words how proud I am of what he’s achieved. Through all the highs this year Ben and I have had quite a difficult time personally, I’m not sure if I’m ready to talk about it on here as Made From Scratch is and always will be my lovely little slice of the heaven where I’m truly honoured and so lucky to be able to share with you things that inspire me – one day I might get there as it’s something that I would like to share, but once I do I won’t be able to hide away from it again, so we will see.

But for now, we’re looking forward to three blissful weeks of holiday – this is my first ever holiday away from the blog in three years, I’m beyond excited and a little terrified at the same time. After such a busy year we really need a little time out to process everything, spend some time together and with our beautiful friends and family, drink a few frozen mojitos and enjoy everything that New Zealand has to offer during summer – I will still be on sharing beautiful pictures on instagram and pinterest throughout our summer holiday though. I want to thank you all so so much for everything this year, you truly have no idea how much your beautiful comments, likes, shares and constant support of my work means to me – I really do have the best job in the world and I have all of you to thank for that! From my cute family to yours, I wish you all a very very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I’ll be back blogging on Monday the 13th of January 2014 where I already can’t wait to share some of our plans for the new year. Until then have a wonderful Christmas Holiday everyone, and again thank you so very much for everything. xo

end-of-MBA After two incredible yet very hard years of balancing uni, work, coding, renovating, family matters and everything else that life tends to throw at you – my absolutely amazing hubby Ben walked out of his final exam of his MBA {Masters of Business Administration} yesterday to a weeping wife who is so unbelievably proud of what he has achieved over the past two years! For those who have been with us on this at times seemingly never ending journey, thank you so so much – you’ll never know how much your support has meant to us as we truly wouldn’t have been able to do it without your understanding as to why we couldn’t go anywhere for two years as our weekends, evenings and any spare moment was taken up by study. For those who have the absolutely honour of knowing Ben will know that he is easily the smartest, kindest and hardest working person, ever! His mind is truly amazing and I still to this day have no idea how he managed to do so well at uni while also working a 50+ hour a week job, coding countless websites on the side and of course always, always being there and taking the time for the people he loves. I’ll never ever have the words to tell him how truly proud of him I am, he’s absolutely incredible and has done so so well! Have a wonderful weekend everyone, we’re off to celebrate the end of Ben’s MBA with our friends and family! xox
