After a truly lovely and very busy/productive day today I thought I would share one of my absolute favourite Instagram accounts that always cheers me up when things get a little manic. The absolutely stunning work above belongs to the very talented and lovely Laura Peach who owns easily one of the beautiful pastel themed French blogs called Pink et Cetera – it’s honestly my happy place and every time I take a peek at her work I want to drop everything and travel through France and Europe again and find only pastel inspired settings. For some truly magical pastel inspiration be sure to take a peek at her work here and of course follow her on Pinterest and Instagram – you won’t regret it. I hope everyone has had a wonderful day so far. x

Happy Friday everyone, gosh this week has one of those weird weeks where it’s oddly calm but flat out busy! It’s been a week full of exciting changes surrounding my new design and logo, family matters that break the heart, delicious media launches and of course counting down the days until my hubby and I fly to Rarotonga next Saturday for a much needed holiday and a little down time. Our little holiday can’t come soon enough! After such a funny week full of every emotion known to man I’ve reached the end of the week so tired and a little unmotivated – thank goodness a break is just around the corner.
So I thought I would share something that brings so much joy to my heart, a little peek into something that two of my dearest friends help me style a little while ago – the truly talented Mel from All the Frills styled everything and my amazing friend Coralee (just wait until you see Coralee’s new brand and website, it’s incredible!!) photographed this beautiful dessert table, I quite like that you haven’t seen the whole thing as I can keep sharing bits and pieces from it. You can find all the recipes for these three cakes on the blog, here, here and here. I also want to share a few of my favourite things that I’ve stumbled upon during the week that you should defiantly take a peek at over the weekend. I hope everyone has a truly lovely weekend planned and to all the mama’s our there, Happy Mothers Day xo
a few of my favourite things
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend, I love how spoilt we’ve been with the all the public holidays lately. With Mothers Day just around the corner, the 11th of May, I thought it would be nice to start off the week with a little gift guide for your amazing Mum. Whether it’s as simple as a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a homemade cake to share, a selection of cookbooks and a new appliance she’s been eyeing up, sweet paper goods or a luxe tote full of gifts just for her. No matter how you celebrate Mothers Day this year, I’ve no doubt you’ll find something perfect to show her just how much she means to you! x
There really is nothing more perfect than a slice of decadent fudgy chocolate cake – not only is this cake a pure crown pleaser, it’s also ridiculously simple to make and tastes like chocolate, nutella and coconut heaven. I whipped this up last weekend for a our very good friends housewarming party, I hope it was a hit as there wasn’t much left by the end of the evening. If you have any celebrations, dinners or birthdays coming up this weekend or shortly, be sure to try this recipe, I’d love to know what you think. I hope everyone had a truly wonderful weekend planned, and in honour of ANZAC Day tomorrow. Lest We Forget. x

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely week! The incredibly sweet ProFlowers asked me to put together a little mood board of my favourite floral trend at the moment – I can’t remember the last time I made mood board (they’re so pretty and so much fun, I think I’m going to have to get back into the habit!) and I’m having a little crush on pastels at the moment. So I thought a beautiful pastel mood board was the perfect way to celebrate the end of a lovely week, plus Im yet to meet anyone who doesn’t have soft spot for a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I hope you all have a truly magical weekend planned, I’m off to buy a pretty selection of flowers for our home. x
Summer and ice cream really do go hand in hand – it’s just so delicious, wonderfully refreshing and always a crowd pleaser. I’m struggling to bring myself to bake anything at the moment, mostly because it just seems weird to be baking on a warm summers day, plus there is something so wonderful about whipping up a dessert that takes no time at all to prepare. This stunning slice is one of those desserts, and of course there really is something so magical about paring classic Tip Top Hokey Pokey with vanilla infused grilled peaches – this simple dessert really is perfect for summer, and of course to whip up for a any last minute Waitangi Day celebrations tomorrow. x

A little while ago there was some very excited murmuring around the home decor world that Nest was retuning, and thank goodness the rumours were true because this iconic New Zealand homewares shop has re-opened their beautiful and well styled doors to a very excited fan base. We were lucky enough to have our wedding registry with Nest and I’m beyond thrilled that their back and of course stocking some of the most beautiful kitchen, serveware and of course linen – their classic, beachy, and forever stylish range really is something that will last a lifetime – plus I’m a tiny bit obsesses, with their new enamel and ceramic ranges, they’re beyond stunning! For those who were a fan, you’ll be pleased to know that their beautiful new store is open in Newton, Auckland, otherwise you can of course shop online and admire their beautiful lookbook! It’s so so wonderful to have you back Nest. x
