Happy Friday everyone – how lovely is it that the sun is shining, it’s so much nicer than cold rain! I’m beyond excited and so flattered to be able to share this stunning styled shoot with you, I love that gold is so popular at the moment, it’s just so pretty and works so beautifully with lovely soft pastels! How absolutely stunning is the soft table setting styled by the enormously talented All the Frills, you would feel oh so special dining at that table then getting to enjoy a few sweet treats from the dessert table by Bluebells Cakery before smashing the living day lights out of gilded piñata - it sounds like the perfect party!! This beautiful shoot was perfectly organised and photographed by the wonderfully talented Ellie from Jel Photography – she also made a little time lapse of the day, it’s so fantastic you have to watch it! I hope everyone has an exciting weekend planned, I’d love to hear what your up to – I’m hosting a delicious baking class tomorrow, then lunching with friends on Sunday – I can’t wait. x

Hello everyone, how was your weekend? I had such a lovely weekend filled with markets, cheese making and baking while Ben was busy writing essays for his MBA. However, I was completely blown away when I stumbled upon this gorgeous dinner part photographed by Jen Huang – how stunning and simple is it! I love the soft linen that has been paired with the rustic and incredibly striking flowers – oh my, how amazing is the wooden cake stand! I could gush on forever about this, be sure to click here to see more. x
On a cold grey winter’s day, is there anything more lovely than a bright jar of delicious homemade lemon curd? I whipped this up on the weekend with lemons from our backyard and we have been eating it with everything from ice cream, marshmallows, meringue and generously on toast since. This recipe is so easy to make and the end result of tangy sweet lemon curd that as smooth as velvet is amazing – I guarantee once you make this you’ll never buy store bought again. x

Happy Friday everyone, how has your week been? Oh gosh, mine has been incredible, I have been completely blown away by how generous, kind and wonderful each and everyone of my readers, contributes and sponsors are – I will never be able to express how much you all mean to me! I have been busy chatting to some very talented ladies all week and we have something very exciting lined up that I can’t wait to share with you. I have had the absolute honor of being mentioned as one of the Hot Five’s on NZ Girl, something I am completely beside my self about. Also, a very lovely reader of mine just got in touch with me saying that the stunning Treehouse Wedding I featured, was in fact her wedding we both couldn’t believe it – naturally we have been excitedly emailing each other all afternoon! Phew what a glorious week! I am forever amazed and so humbled by all the beautiful and very talented people that I have met since starting Made From Scratch, you all mean the world to me and I want to thank you all so very much for your fantastic support. I hope you have a truly fantastic weekend planned. x
Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have had a lovely week, I thought I would share something to brighten up these grey rainy days – cake pops, the brilliant idea of turning any cake into a cake pop! I am so excited to be catching up with the lovely Sophie from Cake Pop Kitchen today over a warm drink, it is so wonderful to be able to meet other people who have a passion for baking – yet I’m embarrassed to admit that I have never tried a cake pop, I can’t believe it either! I’d love to know what your plans are for the weekend, I’m planning on catching up on a lot of baking that I haven’t had the chance to do. And if you are like me and haven’t tried a cake pop, be sure to have a look at what delicious goodies Cake Pop Kitchen has to offer, you’ll be lining up for one in no time. x
I am beyond thrilled and so excited to intoduce the very lovely On My Hand Vintage Prop Hire as Made From Scratch‘s very first sponsor. On My Hand is the brilliant idea behind the very talented Shaye, after being frustrated with what was on offer to hire while planning her wedding. She has built a gorgeous collection of of vintage china, linen, furniture and props for hire between the Bay of Plenty and Auckland – no matter how small or large the event Shaye and Sarah will be more than happy to help out with beautiful props to hire and even styling the event. I hope you enjoy their beautiful work as much as I do, be sure to pop over and say hello, they are as lovely as can be. x
