There really is something so incredibly magical about Spring, especially getting to enjoy the fleeting season of beautiful Cherry Blossoms. My gorgeous hubby, Kora and I spent a lazy Saturday morning wandering around the gorgeous Auckland Botanic Gardens - I love going to the gardens, they’re always so inspiring and you come home wanting to dig up your back yard asap and have flower beds everywhere! We fell madly in love with the absolutely stunning Spring Blossom Valley, there really are no words to describe just how magical it is seeing these blooms. If you’re looking for something to do on a lazy Spring day, I couldn’t recommend wandering around the Botanic Gardens enough, it really is the perfect start to any weekend. x
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a really wonderful weekend. Mine was total bliss, I spent a great deal of time pottering in our garden and giving it a good tidy up after winter and of course getting it ready for the warmer months. I have to admit I’ve become a little obsessed with our gardening at the moment, it’s just so lovely to get out side and of course see the rewards from all your hard work with beautiful blooms and delicious herbs and vegetables – it really is so wonderful!
I’m also beyond excited to share a few gorgeous images from our recent Flower Bomb Workshop at Studio 46 that was run by the amazing and very talented Amber from Red Creative and Annie O – I’d never made a flower bomb before so it was such a wonderful evening creating beautiful little flower bombs and of course learning the tricks of the trade with a group of very lovely ladies, easily the nicest way to spend a chilly winters evening. You can of course see more of these gorgeous images from Sutherland Kovach on the amazing Hello May blog who so kindly featured the workshop! Of course if you’re keen to learn how to make your own beautiful flower bomb or attend any of our other workshops, be sure to take a peek at our schedule. x
And of course a very special thank you to our sponsors!
I fell head over heels in love with peonies before our wedding and simply had to have them along side ranunculus in my bouquets – they really are the most beautiful flower and I’m yet to meet someone who doesn’t adore them! I stumbled upon this really lovely interview on Kinfolk that shared some tips for growing your own peonies, which for anyone who loves to potter in the garden would find really helpful – plus their peony nursery is far too amazing for words! I’m itching with excitement for the weather and soil to warm up a little so I can get back into the garden and make a beautiful flower bed, and of course to see how the few peonies and ranunculus bulbs that I planted at the start of winter are going. I’d love to hear of any tips and tricks that you might have to growing these beautiful flowers, I can’t wait to have a whole garden bed full of them! x
