The only thing better than homemade silky lemon curd, is dolloping spoonfuls of it onto delicious crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle meringues and making meringue kisses. It is the perfect flavour combination and would be the sweetest treat for any tea party. x

On a cold grey winter’s day, is there anything more lovely than a bright jar of delicious homemade lemon curd? I whipped this up on the weekend with lemons from our backyard and we have been eating it with everything from ice cream, marshmallows, meringue and generously on toast since. This recipe is so easy to make and the end result of tangy sweet lemon curd that as smooth as velvet is amazing – I guarantee once you make this you’ll never buy store bought again. x

Last night while Ben was at the radio show, I went over to my Mama’s house for dinner. Mum cooked delicious and soul warming Gnocchi with Almond & Lemon Pesto and I baked the muffins for dessert. I never thought that a little muffin could spark so much dinner conversation though, Mum and I think the recipe needs less raspberries, Geoff wants more chocolate and Ben want’s them to be about 3 times bigger than they are! This is one recipe that might be making a reapperace on the blog while I perfect it – I hope you don’t mind. x

Hello everyone I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a fantastic weekend meeting and catching up with some very lovely people, going to craft markets, baking, trying my first cake pop, catching up on sleep and taking Kora for lots of walks while Ben was running around Auckland as part of the 48 hour film festival. One of the things I baked over the weekend is this very simple and delicious lemon loaf, if you are a fan of lemon you will love this. It’s so lemony you could almost do without the sweet lemon drizzle, it would go perfectly with a warm cup of tea on a chilly winters afternoon. x

A couple of weeks ago we had some very lovely friends over for dinner, I find great joy in preparing a delicious dinner for the people I care about most. After dinner I quickly sent our lovely guests into a mini sugar-shock with this very modest but amazingly rich golden syrup cake, you really wouldn’t want this cake any thicker than it is as the cake and icing are almost fudge like. If you are a fan of golden syrup than this cake is most defiantly for you!

Happy Friday, I hope everyone has had the most wonderful week and has something fantastic planned for the weekend. Oh I am so thrilled to show you Wim and Endri’s sweet farm wedding shot by the lovely We Love Pictures. Even though it was dampened by the rain, the warm and happy smiles by their wonderfully rain soaked guests made their day shine. I also can’t get over the amount of bunting and their delicious home made favors. Too perfect for words! x

I can’t wait to show you how its turned out, we are really thrilled that the laundry is almost done. It means all the inside renovations are almost finished and the sorting and tidying up will begin! For those who are planning a weekend of pottering {or have something special planned} this very easy Chocolate & Vanilla Layer Cake would be perfect, I made it last week before my birthday it has just the right amount of chocolate and vanilla. I hope that everyone has a lovely weekend, I’d love to know what you have planned. x
