Goodness me, is anyone else feeling like this year is just slipping by – how are we almost at the end of April, thats almost surreal! I’m so sorry for the lack of posts over the last few days, I’ve been playing catchup after finishing my last stunning wedding cake for the season last weekend. So since then I’ve been chatting to some very lovely people about future baking classes and of course planning a few lovely new things for Made From Scratch that I’m really excited to share with you once everything is settled – oh and how gorgeous is this afternoon setting by This is Glamours, how perfect would all your meetings be if they were like this?! I was also incredibly flattered to be featured on the wonderful Endemic World over the weekend – if you haven’t had a look at their art work, you must, you’ll want everything in a heart beat! I hope that have a truly wonderful weekend and were spoilt rotten yesterday for Valentines Day! x

Hello everyone – did you have a lovely Valentine’s Day? Ours was a bit untraditional this year!  I personally had a training session with my amazing friend and trainer Charlotte then came home and cooked my Mr. a new recipe of prawn & noodle salad. That’s two nights in a row of cooking new dinners from recipes found in magazines – both needing a bit of tweaking – but once “personalised” – they will go up on the blog!

This weekend we will be at the grand opening of the Ponsoby Central Markets!  We’re super excited to get back into the specialty food market scene as we miss our lovely friends over at City Market in Wellington.  You can find us at Ponsonby at their new amazing markets:

February: 17th  and  24th
March:  3rd and 10th

We’ll be showing off some new designs not available yet online and the newest collections of the baking decorations as well! Fingers crossed for good weather and some familiar faces in the crowd!

This week’s roundup is mostly brought to you by some amazing Etsy talent:

1. I’m a big sucker when it comes to lemony desserts – and with baking a special birthday cake next week – I have my eye on this cheesecake!

2. Absolutely love these porcelain hanging plant holders.

3. This desk made out of oak and steel is just a dream!

4. These bracelets out of Lithuania just scream summer and make the perfect accessory.

5. Saw these personalised mugs earlier this week and fell in love! What a perfect wedding gift!

6. Speaking of wedding gifts – this cutting board is just lovely.

I hope you all have had a fantastic week and have fun weekend plans!  And if you do live in the Auckland area, I hope you do say hello on Sunday if you are in the Ponsonby area! x

Yay we’re finally having some gorgeous Spring weather – but it’s still very much on the chilly side! I couldn’t think of  anything better than turning on the oven to warm your home up and make a few yummy pies – especially if you turn it into a little dessert table and have people over for dinner for a ‘yay it’s Spring party’! How absolutely stunning is this dessert table – all the sweet treats that you see are made by the very lovely To Have and To Hold,  the stunning photos by Sutherland Kovach and all the props, flowers and styling by the enormously talented Blush Flowers. I couldn’t think of a better excuse that to potter in the kitchen. x

Happy Monday everyone, how was your weekend? Mine was busy, wonderfully busy, amongst teaching a lovely ruffle class I also worked on a lovely project – I can’t wait to tell you more! A while ago I stumbled upon this ridiculously stunning shop Herriott Grace and have been dying to share it with you, is there anything more perfect than beautiful kitchen ware? I would love to own each and every one of the above (actually everything that she sells) it would make cooking, baking and entertaining feel completely effortless and oh so stylish!

After being thrilled with the results of my first batch of brioche dough, I simply had to turn it into something totally delicious. There has been a lot of sweet things filling up our kitchen lately, so I thought that some savoury brioche scrolls would be the perfect treat to offset all the sugar. And they are fantastic, Ben has already devoured quite a few. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend planned, maybe it will involve a little pottering in the kitchen. x

I’d love to know what your plans are over the long weekend I hope whatever it is you get to spend some relaxing time with your family and friends. x
