I hope everyone had a wonderfully relaxing cozy long weekend – winter really has settled in, so I thought it would be the perfect timing to share one of the most beautiful weddings from summer to help brighten the day! I’m so excited to share Hayley and Heath’s amazing Raglan wedding with you – I could hardly believe my eyes when Coralee first showed me these photos, they’re just so beautiful! Photographed by the insanely talented Coralee and Alex, Hayley and Heath’s wedding really is everything you’d want from a summer wedding, the boys firing shot guns before getting ready, picnics, first looks, incredible scenery and of course saying I do on the beach before watching the sunset over Raglan – it’s all just too perfect! You can see more of this beautiful wedding here, plus how could I not mention their gorgeous Rottweiler Kal, who proudly wore a sign around his neck announcing that “My humans are getting married”, how gorgeous is that! x

From the second photographer Tim Coulson walked through Claire’s door on her wedding day he knew this was going to be an event like no other!

“Claire handed me a CD and told me this is what she wanted played in my car, while we drove from location to location during the portraits.” For all you folks at home, here’s the playlist.

1. This is how we do it – Montell Jordan

2. No diggity – Blackstreet

3. Shoop – Salt-N-Pepa

4. Beautiful – Snoop Dog feat. Pharrell

5. Trick me – Kelis

6. Return of the Mack – Mark Morrisson

7. Hey Mr. D.J. – Zhané

8. Get busy – Sean Paul

9. One thing – Amerie

10. You can do it – Ms. Toi and Ice Cube 11. Holiday – Naughty By Nature

12. Too close – Next

13. Touch it – Monifah

14. No scrubs – TLC

Claire’s awesome playlist, aptly titled ‘Gangsta Cruisin’ set the tone for the good times and great memories that followed, not to mention loosened them all up a bit in front of the camera.

Massage therapist and yoga teacher, Claire, met Australian Defence Force member, Paul, almost four years ago and bonded over, among other things, a love of food. So of course, when it came to planning their wedding day, tasty treats were at the top of the menu must-haves. “We wanted something that reflected us as a couple, something simple, relaxed and intimate, like a Sunday family dinner – all of our nearest and dearest together having a laugh and sharing stories.” Podfood at Pialligo Plant Farm proved to be the perfect location for this feat to go down!

Look closely at the photos and you’ll find some fabulous handmade details have been worked into Claire and Paul’s wedding day. Claire’s mum made her gorgeous wedding dress, while Paul’s mum knitted some lovely wool shawls for the guests in case the evening got chilly. Homemade jams were made as wedding favours with tags by An April Idea (who also did the invitations) and the floral centrepieces were artfully arranged in recycled egg cartons!

But the icing on the cake? When Claire announced during her speech that they were going to have a baby! Talk about ending the evening on a high note…

Rue de Seine

Rue-de-SeineSo, you may have heard that I’ve the huge honour of being a bridesmaid at our wonderful friends wedding this winter – I’ve probably told you a million times, but I’m so excited! Today is a very exciting day as Emily (the beautiful bride to be), her mama and I are going to take a little peek at some of the gorgeous wedding gowns from Rue De Seine - if you haven’t been to see Michele yet, you must, even if you aren’t a bride to be,  her shop is a dream come true! I’ve a sneaky feeling that there may be a few happy tears shed today! x

I have a very sweet little story about this beautiful wedding from Queensland, Australia which was beautiful photographed by the wonderfully talented Feather and Stone. I featured this wedding because it is by far one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen – I mean seriously how cool would it be to get married in a tree house then play a few rounds of croquet before partying the night away with your gorgeous friends and family! You can see more of their beautiful day here. x

Not long after I published this post I got the sweetest comment from the bride, Laura, thanking me for featuring her wedding and saying that my blog inspired her wedding day – to say I was flattered was a understatement, I even called Ben at work to tell him! I quickly emailed Laura, thanking her and saying how absolutely honoured I was that my blog inspired her wedding. We have since built up the loveliest friendship over emails and still to this day I am completely overwhelmed and so flattered that a sweet post about a wedding could introduce me to such a beautiful person and friendship – we’ve even baked together over Skype! Laura also has the most beautiful blog called The Velvet Doe which she started a few months ago, it is filled to the brim with stunning writing and the most gorgeous collection of bits and pieces that she finds inspiring – you simply must have look, I know you’ll love it as much as I do! x

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope that you are having the most wonderful weekend. Is there anything more wonderful than gold glitter, it just makes everything so pretty and party ready! I couldn’t think of anything more amazing than having lots of sparkly gold accents at your wedding or next party – especially if you’re lucky enough to be wearing gold bow high heels from Kate Spade, how perfect are they! x
