Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely week! The incredibly sweet ProFlowers asked me to put together a little mood board of my favourite floral trend at the moment – I can’t remember the last time I made mood board (they’re so pretty and so much fun, I think I’m going to have to get back into the habit!) and I’m having a little crush on pastels at the moment. So I thought a beautiful pastel mood board was the perfect way to celebrate the end of a lovely week, plus Im yet to meet anyone who doesn’t have soft spot for a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I hope you all have a truly magical weekend planned, I’m off to buy a pretty selection of flowers for our home. x
A few years ago while we were living in England we celebrated Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day, I’d never heard of this magical day before and have been quietly celebrating it ever since – it’s just such a good idea! So in honour of the most delicious ‘holiday’ I thought I would whip up a batch of wonderfully simply French Crepes, and of course top these paper thin treats with a little Nutella and freeze dried strawberries! Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I’m so excited and honoured to share a piece of news that I’ve had to keep quite for a little while – the incredibly kind and generous Sunday Star Times featured my cakes and a little dessert table round up on the weekend as part of their beautiful DIY wedding edition. My goodness, thank you all so so much for the incredibly lovely birthday wishes yesterday – I truly do have the most amazing friends, family and of course readers any girl could ever want, plus I do love that each year my gorgeous hubby takes over Made From Scratch to write me the sweetest birthday post! So thank you all so much for making my day so special!
I also simply have to share this incredibly, and absolutely delicious, Valentines Day Brunch (I know that the day has passed, but it’s far too beautiful not to share!) that the hugely talented Lauren Kelp styled. It’s so stunning that I don’t think it should be reserved only for Valentines Day, I think any celebration calls for a brunch like this where fluffy pancakes with fresh fruit are generously served and champagne flows freely! Hello, Ben here! In what has become a bit of a yearly tradition I let Rachael rest today and do a post for her. Happy Birthday Rachael!
When we originally put this blog together it didn’t seem possible that this could become her full time job. I read about people who do something on their own that they love and it seems like another world, but here she is, years later, using Made From Scratch as a starting point for some pretty amazing projects. I am so proud that she’s invested so much her time and life in to something so incredible and that she has made it her job.
Even though the blog has grown over the last few years, Rachael still reads every comment and replies to most of them on here, Instagram and Facebook. If you’ve got a minute and you enjoy Made From Scratch please send her a note to say Happy Birthday! After her day out she’ll sit on the couch and love to read through them all.
