I don’t think there is a woman alive who wouldn’t dream of having a beautiful walk in wardrobe, the extra storage space and a being able to lay everything out perfectly – and have a wall of shoes like this really would be a dream come true. Very good friends of ours are currently in the process of creating a beautiful walk in wardrobe, and in turn has inspired me to look out our wardrobes a little better and try and organise them as well as we can, so I thought I’d share a little winter wardrobe inspiration for this weekend as I plan on having a massive clean out in our wardrobe and try and work out how to create a space just for my shoes! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend planned, be sure to keep an eye out on the blog tomorrow, I’ve a delicious new recipe to share with you x

Gosh, can anyone else believe that we’re now half way through 2014 – as fast as it’s going, it’s also been a really lovely year for us so far that’s been full of catching up with friends, dreaming incredibly big dreams for our future, planning new adventures to go on (like planing a trip back to Vietnam at the end of the year!!) and enjoying life without uni. It’s been bliss! I mentioned a little while ago that we’ve been busy working behind the scenes to rebrand Made From Scratch – it’s time to shake things up with a new look, layout and add a few exciting features to the blog. I’m so excited to say that the design is all finished (the perfectionist in me slowed everything down) and I’m now the proud new owner of a stunning new logo and blog, fingers crossed I’ll be able to unveil it in all it’s glory shortly.

So to celebrate a lovely year so far I thought I’d share a little collection of my favourite images that I’ve shared on Instagram during June. And also to thank each and everyone of supporting, sharing and being apart of this with me – none of this would ever be possible without you and I’m truly so honoured that you’re kind enough to support my work. Thank you so much, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings. x

I’m so proud and excited to share this post, as this coming Thursday my incredibly talented mother in law Rosemary Nightingale will be showcasing her stunning collection of art, you can see a peek of her work above, alongside some of New Zealand’s most talented artists. For anyone who has a deep love of New Zealand art ranging in mediums from painting, sculpture, photography and jewellery and are looking for something to do this Thursday evening or upcoming weekend – this beautiful exhibition and the grand opening of one of Aucklands newest gallery Artbase.org truly is the event to attend. Their opening exhibition will run until the 7th of August and the grand opening is this Thursday the 26th of June from 6pm at 78 Coates Ave, Orakei. xo

With the days getting shorter and colder it’s such a lovely time curl up inside and not feel bad about it at all – one of my favourite things to do during winter is to take myself to bed a little earlier than normal and curl up with a good book and delicious cup of tea. It always feels so indulgent. I’ve always had a deep love for beautiful bedding, it’s always been something that I’ve spent a little more on as I know that it will last and continue to get better with age – which was why I squealed with delight when I found out that Claudia from Indie Home Collective is now stocking the most beautiful Bedouin Societe linen bedding designed by Virginia Feldtman. To add a little more luxe to this already stunning collection – the linen used for their bedding is sourced from regions in Northern France, how divine is that? Not only is the bedding beyond soft to touch, it will last, get better with age and of course the pallet of neutral tones and pastels make for a perfect centrepiece to a French country inspired bedroom. If you haven’t had a chance to visit Indie Home Collective yet, make this the reason, I’ve no doubt you’ll fall madly in love with how Claudia has styled her beautiful shop. Happy lazy winter days everyone. x

One of the very best parts about long weekends is getting to catch up on things around the home that have been on your ‘to do’ list forever – sorting out our bedside tables have been on my list for as long as I can remember. We didn’t really have the budget to sort anything out when we first moved into our home almost three years ago, plus it takes me that long to decided on furniture as there are so many stunning options out there, so we settled for old milk crates that neither of us liked and annoyingly had no storage. After naturally searching high and low for the perfect side table that was high enough to reach our rather high bed, the right size and of course a design that we wouldn’t tire of any time soon – we found, ordered and quickly built our beautiful new Brooklyn side tables from Mocka. And I’m in love, they’re so perfect!

My favourite part about any new furniture is getting to style it, especially bedside tables as each side can be styled so differently. However, you can never go wrong with a beautiful stack of books, magazines or cook books; a beautiful keepsake, I have the vows that Ben said to me at our wedding framed on my side and he has a photo of us from our school ball. A little art,  fresh flowers, a light to read under, and of course a cozy blanket to curl into on a chilly evening. I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend I’d love to hear what you got up to over the long weekend, I’m off to add a few more books to my side of the bed. x

scandi kitchens | made from scratch Kitchen’s truly are the heart of any home, there where every meal is lovingly made, where you enjoy those meals and where everyone tends to drift towards during any party! So it’s not hard to image why people have such a deep love for their kitchens – I’ve always had a very soft spot for either all white or black kitchens with touches of blonde wood and marble, which is very obvious from my pinterest board! I love the completely neutral tones, minimal lines, how it’s forever classic and a base that you can easily add colour when the mood strikes through flowers, beautiful kitchenware, art or of course through delicious meals! Everyone has a different dream kitchen, I’d love to know what yours is. x
