I’ve always found it a little strange that we celebrate the silly season in warmth and sunshine while the rest of the world is settling into the lovely rich colours and textures of fall and winter. I think if I was to re-do our wedding I would have opted for a fall wedding, there is just something so magical about this season and of course all the beautiful rich colours, delicious food and wine that you can comfortably enjoy. Oh my, I was completly floored when I stumbled across this beautiful Fall Collaboration on Roost blog for Once Wed, isn’t it just everything that you could ever want from a delicious fall wedding? x

Happy Monday everyone, how gorgeous was the weather over the weekend! I hope that you got out and were able to enjoy it, I hosted a lovely private baking classes, had a BBQ with friends and generally pottered around the house it was bliss! Now that Spring/Summer feels like it’s almost here I love cakes that are a little softer and not so heavy with icing – plus a good chocolate cake is something you can never say no to! I had so much fun making this for our weekly family dinner and topping it off with these gorgeous floral cake toppers from Wink – aren’t the sweetest cake toppers ever, this would be such a delicious cake to serve for a lovely afternoon tea! x

Spring Clean

Happy Monday everyone, I hope that you all had a lovely and safe weekend and weren’t too affected by the very windy and stormy weather that we’ve been having. A while ago Ben and I decided to not book anything in for our weekend just gone so that we could have a good old fashioned clean up around the house – we even hired a 9 cubic meter skip that we managed to fill in less than two hours! It was amazing to see just how much stuff we had lying around the house, everything from left over wood from renovations, rotten veggie garden wood to a whole lot of rubbish under the house left over from the previous owner! Our power then went our for over four hours so it was the perfect excuse to go through all the cupboards in every room and tidy things up – it’s honestly the best feeling ever and our home feels so much ‘lighter’! I’d love to hear what you got up to over the weekend. xo

Happy Friday everyone, I hope that you’ve all had the most wonderful week so far!
