I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far! I’m so excited to be able to share a gorgeous event that is coming up in May – the very lovely Southern Lakes Wedding Show in Queenstown, not only is it held in one of the most beautiful cities in the world it’s also overflowing with the most gorgeous vendors and ideas for your upcoming wedding – I wish I could make it to the event, it sounds incredible! I had the absolute pleasure of having a chat to the very lovely Jaime who’s helping run this wonderful event. To all the gorgeous brides-to-be in and around Queenstown, this really is one event you won’t want to miss. x
What’s your favourite piece of advice for a bride and groom?
Jaime - Take some time out of your planning to relax. Wedding’s can be one of the most stressful things a couple will do in life so it’s best to have some time to your self to regain focus.
What inspired you to start the Southern Lakes Wedding Show?
Queenstown is one of the most beautiful locations in New Zealand and attracts a large number of domestic and international weddings. We wanted to take the stress out of planning by putting our top suppliers in one location to help brides and grooms get a raft of information about their Queenstown Wedding options.
If you could get married in any location where would it be?
Queenstown of course! With the gorgeous mountains and seasons Queenstown is beautiful anytime of the year.
What are you most excited about for this years Southern Lakes Wedding Show?
The Speight’s Man Zone this year will be the main point of difference for the grooms as a lot of males do not want to attend these types of things. It will be a fun “get away from it all” option with the games zone, mobile massages and of course the first Speight’s Beer is Free. The fashion show will also feature some fantastic dresses and will be organised by Tracie Patel of Monarch Model Management. A very well known lady in the fashion show arena

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely day off in remembrance for ANZAC Day yesterday and got to enjoy some delicious ANZAC Biscuits too. Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a glorious weekend. I spent yesterday admiring the gorgeous Grand Wedding Show with some very lovely ladies and my amazing friend who’s getting married this winter, it was such a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! If you were in Auckland, did you manage to go? It was overflowing with so many stunning vendors! Oh, I also stumbled upon this lovely Pastel Blue Petal Chocolate Layer Cake that I’d made for a sweet baby shower a while ago – I love re-finding pretty images hidden on my computer, it’s such a lovely surprise! I still adore how soft the blue is, it’s the perfect hue to match a delicious chocolate layer cake. x

Oh, I’m so honoured and excited to be able to share this cake that I made for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was for a very beautiful and oh so lovely bride that I met through one of my baking classes last year, so it was very special to be able to make this for her. I’m a little in love with having a tiered petal cake, it’s just so lovely plus the little dots of raspberry through the icing look so so pretty! x

So, you may have heard that I’ve the huge honour of being a bridesmaid at our wonderful friends wedding this winter – I’ve probably told you a million times, but I’m so excited! Today is a very exciting day as Emily (the beautiful bride to be), her mama and I are going to take a little peek at some of the gorgeous wedding gowns from Rue De Seine - if you haven’t been to see Michele yet, you must, even if you aren’t a bride to be, her shop is a dream come true! I’ve a sneaky feeling that there may be a few happy tears shed today! x
