It is no secret that I am a fan of Black and white. There is something about the simple base of it that allows my crazy personality to change it around every week. And I mean e.v.e.r.y week. It drives the husband insane. With black and white, it is about textures and patterns. Creating depth so it is no flat and boring. Plus when you can get great cushions like these from Studio 6, how can you go wrong. You can have so much fun with shapes and lines. It lends itself to so many personalities. It’s really up to you. So go for gold…or black and white. Go on, I bet you’ll love it.

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have all had a lovely week and have survived the chilly winter weather so far! I’m beyond honoured to share this gorgeous 1st birthday that the very lovely and talented Mel from All the Frills styled for Caden’s 1st birthday party – perfectly captured by Sheera Gordon, this really is the most gorgeous birthday ever! From the delicious dessert table, refreshing drinks table, gorgeous little picnic spots and of course lots of games for the kiddies to keep busy, plus how lovely is the tree full of polaroids from the day of celebrating – everything really is just so perfect! You can see more of this gorgeous party here and here! Have a wonderful long weekend everyone, I hope you all have something nice planned. x
Oh, I’m beyond honoured and so excited to share the most stunning new lifestyle shop in Auckland – the beautiful new Superette Space! I’ve been a huge fan of Superette fashion for such a long time so I, like everyone, was giddy with exciting when they announced the expansion of their already beautiful shop to house an incredible selection of lifestyle and home products. The new Superette Space was beautifully styled by the hugely talented Claire from One Lovely Day, her eye to detail is just amazing – plus how gorgeous are the maple trees placed around the shop that will continue to drop their leaves throughout the winter months, it’s heavenly! If you haven’t had the chance to visit their new store yet, you simply must, it’s so beautiful and I promise you won’t leave empty handed – but if you can’t make it in person, you can also buy everything online, how lovely is that?! x

Well yesterday, winter arrived in all it’s hailing glory! And I don’t know about you but all I really wanted to do was to bundle up and go hibernate. This may lead you to believe that I dislike winter, but in fact it is quite the opposite. I am fan. But I am all about being prepared. I love the thick layers of winter, knits and coats, wools and heavy delicious fabrics. yum. So rug up and get shopping from the comfort of your warm little home, because Winter is coming. ( shameless Game of Thrones reference. Thank you. )
Til next time.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a really lovely weekend – my hubby was away all weekend apart of the 48 hour film festival so I had a lovely couple of days pottering around the home and having a huge autumn spring clean – it’s so so therapeutic! I also had the absolute pleasure of lunching and shopping with some very lovely ladies and visiting the beautiful Father Rabbit store with my friend! If you haven’t had the chance to take a peek at this beautiful shop, you simply must! From the all white interior, the impeccable display of the most beautiful items ever and of course how calm and inviting it is – it really is so lovely with far too many gorgeous things to choose from, is it ok to say that I just want it all?! x

From the second photographer Tim Coulson walked through Claire’s door on her wedding day he knew this was going to be an event like no other!
“Claire handed me a CD and told me this is what she wanted played in my car, while we drove from location to location during the portraits.” For all you folks at home, here’s the playlist.
1. This is how we do it – Montell Jordan
2. No diggity – Blackstreet
3. Shoop – Salt-N-Pepa
4. Beautiful – Snoop Dog feat. Pharrell
5. Trick me – Kelis
6. Return of the Mack – Mark Morrisson
7. Hey Mr. D.J. – Zhané
8. Get busy – Sean Paul
9. One thing – Amerie
10. You can do it – Ms. Toi and Ice Cube 11. Holiday – Naughty By Nature
12. Too close – Next
13. Touch it – Monifah
14. No scrubs – TLC
Claire’s awesome playlist, aptly titled ‘Gangsta Cruisin’ set the tone for the good times and great memories that followed, not to mention loosened them all up a bit in front of the camera.
Massage therapist and yoga teacher, Claire, met Australian Defence Force member, Paul, almost four years ago and bonded over, among other things, a love of food. So of course, when it came to planning their wedding day, tasty treats were at the top of the menu must-haves. “We wanted something that reflected us as a couple, something simple, relaxed and intimate, like a Sunday family dinner – all of our nearest and dearest together having a laugh and sharing stories.” Podfood at Pialligo Plant Farm proved to be the perfect location for this feat to go down!
Look closely at the photos and you’ll find some fabulous handmade details have been worked into Claire and Paul’s wedding day. Claire’s mum made her gorgeous wedding dress, while Paul’s mum knitted some lovely wool shawls for the guests in case the evening got chilly. Homemade jams were made as wedding favours with tags by An April Idea (who also did the invitations) and the floral centrepieces were artfully arranged in recycled egg cartons!
But the icing on the cake? When Claire announced during her speech that they were going to have a baby! Talk about ending the evening on a high note…

You will come to learn rather fast that I am, and always will be a fan of the white out. But only recently have I been wanting to turn my black hole of a wardrobe into beaming white. So here are a few ideas for white outs, in the wardrobe, or in the home, complete domination of white, or just a taster. You pick.
