One of the very best parts about long weekends is getting to catch up on things around the home that have been on your ‘to do’ list forever – sorting out our bedside tables have been on my list for as long as I can remember. We didn’t really have the budget to sort anything out when we first moved into our home almost three years ago, plus it takes me that long to decided on furniture as there are so many stunning options out there, so we settled for old milk crates that neither of us liked and annoyingly had no storage. After naturally searching high and low for the perfect side table that was high enough to reach our rather high bed, the right size and of course a design that we wouldn’t tire of any time soon – we found, ordered and quickly built our beautiful new Brooklyn side tables from Mocka. And I’m in love, they’re so perfect!

My favourite part about any new furniture is getting to style it, especially bedside tables as each side can be styled so differently. However, you can never go wrong with a beautiful stack of books, magazines or cook books; a beautiful keepsake, I have the vows that Ben said to me at our wedding framed on my side and he has a photo of us from our school ball. A little art,  fresh flowers, a light to read under, and of course a cozy blanket to curl into on a chilly evening. I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend I’d love to hear what you got up to over the long weekend, I’m off to add a few more books to my side of the bed. x

With Autumn well and truly here, now is certainly the time to do a little Autumn/Winter shopping so that you stay warm and chic through the cooler months. I’ve always had a very soft spot for well cut jackets and cozy scarves (which is rather obvious from my Pinterest board) – pair this seasons jackets and scarves with jeans, a cozy knit sweater and a killer pair of heels and you’ve got the perfect ‘uniform’ for Winter this year. x

scandi kitchens | made from scratch Kitchen’s truly are the heart of any home, there where every meal is lovingly made, where you enjoy those meals and where everyone tends to drift towards during any party! So it’s not hard to image why people have such a deep love for their kitchens – I’ve always had a very soft spot for either all white or black kitchens with touches of blonde wood and marble, which is very obvious from my pinterest board! I love the completely neutral tones, minimal lines, how it’s forever classic and a base that you can easily add colour when the mood strikes through flowers, beautiful kitchenware, art or of course through delicious meals! Everyone has a different dream kitchen, I’d love to know what yours is. x

Walk-in-closet1

Walkincloset It’s absolutely no secret that I adore Nina from Stylizimo’s impeccable style – everything that she touches turns to organised chic bliss and her beautiful new walk is closet has quickly become some of the most pinned images and of course the envy of every single woman in the world who dreams of a closet like this! My hubby and I have been staring at our annoyingly small closet for years now trying to work out how to make the best use of the sliver of space that we’ve been given, we still haven’t worked out the best option that doesn’t cost the earth! But now after seeing Nina’s absolutely beautiful walk in closet, we are now very very tempted to turn one of our spare bedrooms into a blissful organised space like this – with of course a gorgeous wall hung high heel shoe rack! x

4 Hello 2014, it’s so so lovely to be back after a blissful three week holiday with my gorgeous family and friends – I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas holiday too and had a wonderful start to the new year! I’m terribly excited about what 2014 is going to bring, it’s such a wonderful feeling starting a new year with a ‘clean’ slate and wondering how it will unfold – plus it’s also nice not knowing how it will unfold. Ben and I are hoping that this year is a lot calmer than 2013, it was far too busy for us and we’re looking forward to having a year of catching up on things that we haven’t had a chance to do – like hiking across the Tongariro Crossing that we did last week with Cake Pop Kitchen and her hubby, it was easily one of the most incredible walks we’ve ever done and I can’t wait to see more of New Zealand! For now though I thought I would share one of the most beautiful workspaces that I’ve stumbled upon recently, the very lovely Souraya from Binti Home Blog easily has one of the most envious and stunning home offices I’ve ever seen. The incredible wooden desk by House Doctor is beyond divine and of course the simple neutral and white styling of her office is so perfect – I honestly couldn’t think of a more wonderful space to work from this year! Here’s to a truly wonderful 2014, I can’t wait to see what this year brings everyone. x

Happy Friday everyone, oh gosh I’m so thrilled that this week is over – it’s been one of those blink and you’ll miss it kind of weeks. I’m even more thrilled about it being Friday because my hubby and I are sneaking away for a lovely long weekend up north to Coopers Beach for a much needed break, I’ve never been before and I can’t wait – I’ll no doubt be sharing a few travel picks here and there on instagram. I’m also beyond thrilled to share this absolutely stunning event that Claire from One Lovely Day and Anita from Wildernest styled recently on Motuihe a few weeks ago. The whole event was styled around the most gorgeous tents, the cutest of caravans called Waggie, the most amazing food and of course a location to die for – this whole event and setting is beyond perfect and everything about this day really does have summer weddings, parties and festivals written all over it. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend planned, I’m off to the beach and will see you Monday…maybe Tuesday. xo

7 Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a truly wonderful weekend. We were down at Mount Maunganui for the weekend for a running race that my hubby was apart of – which of course gave me lots of time to do a little shopping at the beautiful Paper Plane store. If you haven’t been you must, and if you can’t make it be sure to have a peek at their online shop – it’s beyond divine! I stumbled upon this absolutely stunning mid century home on Coco Lapine Design a while ago and have been dying to share it with you all – I could gush on forever about the beautiful textures in this home! The white walls, dark wooden furniture, marble and of course the stunning combination of different floors really is beyond perfect – I could happily, and very easily, call a space like this home. x
