On a cold grey winter’s day, is there anything more lovely than a bright jar of delicious homemade lemon curd? I whipped this up on the weekend with lemons from our backyard and we have been eating it with everything from ice cream, marshmallows, meringue and generously on toast since. This recipe is so easy to make and the end result of tangy sweet lemon curd that as smooth as velvet is amazing – I guarantee once you make this you’ll never buy store bought again. x

Oh my winter is well and truly here, the days are dark, gloomy and cold so it’s the perfect time to cook and bake winter meals to warm you up. The other night we had some very good friends over for a hearty winters meal followed by a not so traditional (but equally delicious) Gingerbread Sticky Toffee Pudding generously served with warm caramel sauce. It was the perfect way to end the meal and keep us toasty and warm on a cold winter’s night. x

With winter well and truly here I can’t think of anything better than pottering in the kitchen and baking a sweet yet very subtle Orange Cake to add a little bit of summer to a rainy day. I am also beyond excited to share this post of Our Home that I re-did for the lovely 20 Best Twenty blog – be sure curl up with a warm cup of tea and a slice of delicious cake and have a look at there new site. x

Happy Friday everyone – can anyone else believe that it is already June, where has the year gone! With winter now ‘officially’ here, I can’t think of a better time that to start potting in the kitchen and making a whole bunch of yummy things to nibble on during the colder months. I made the easiest Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Vanilla Muesli the other day and I been eating it with some generous servings of delicious Russian Fudge Yoghurt from The Collective – it’s amazing and would be so perfect for brunch or dessert over the long weekend. x

Brrr it’s such a chilly winters day today – I thought I would share some delicious muffins my Mama made over the weekend, they would be the perfect thing to grab if your running out the door in a hurry on a cold morning, they will warm you up in no time. x
Hello everyone I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a fantastic weekend meeting and catching up with some very lovely people, going to craft markets, baking, trying my first cake pop, catching up on sleep and taking Kora for lots of walks while Ben was running around Auckland as part of the 48 hour film festival. One of the things I baked over the weekend is this very simple and delicious lemon loaf, if you are a fan of lemon you will love this. It’s so lemony you could almost do without the sweet lemon drizzle, it would go perfectly with a warm cup of tea on a chilly winters afternoon. x

These lovely crisp Autumn day’s are the perfect time to hone your soup making skills before Winter arrives. I personally can’t think of anything better or more comforting than curling up with a warm bowl of home made soup, what’s better is the list of soups to make is endless. This pumpkin soup is a tweaked version of my Mum’s recipe, I adore this recipe as it is so easy and always tastes amazing.

You know you live in Auckland when it has been freezing cold and snowing during the week and then hot and sunny on the weekend! We have had the most perfect Sunday pottering around the Takapuna markets, wandering up and down the beach and then catching up with friends over tea, hot chocolate and french pastries. Total bliss! I have to thank everyone for all their lovely comments about Made From Scratch’s 1st Birthday, so sweet of you! I hope everyone has had a truly wonderful weekend, xx
