Goodness me, can anyone else believe that January is almost at a end already?! The first month of 2014 for us has been so wonderful for us, so I thought I’d share a little from Instagram of what we’ve been up too. We’ve certainly hit the ground running with work, renovations around our home, events that we didn’t get time to enjoy last year and of course catching up with family and friends. We’ve been renovating our home (I can’t wait to share some updated photos) constantly since we bought it in 2011 and we’re, almost, done with all the major interior work – the bathroom and laundry are the final parts to this never ending puzzle, as well as a little more work around our garden and we should, hopefully, be able to put our feet up and enjoy our home very soon. Plus I’ll have my office back soon, which I’m so excited about! I’d love to hear how your January has been so far and if you’re doing anything around your home how it’s going. xo
1. A little, and pretty, desk organising is the perfect way to start a year or week.
2. Summer is here and that calls for delicious fresh blueberries!
3. I’m completely in love with this garden wall from Freedom NZ, I’m thinking of making one for our garden- plus they’re now on Instagram, which is so exciting!
4. I spotted this gorgeous garden wall before a meeting one day.
5. The start of our bathroom renovation – I promise I’ll be sharing lots of photos once it’s all done.
6. Strawberry glaze donuts with sprinkles are always a good idea!
7. We, along with 9000 others, had the best morning ever being apart of the 5km Colour Run – you start off pristine in white and finish multi coloured, if you get a chance to do this event, do it’s so fantastic!
8. I can’t not mention that the beautiful Lorde, Ella, won two Grammy’s last night – it’s absolutely incredible and NZ couldn’t be prouder! I can’t wait to see her perform tomorrow night at Silo Park! xox
Like everyone I’ve become completely obsessed with Instagram, it’s always full of beautiful new images, the community is absolutely stunning and of course it’s a wonderful way to share a little behind the scenes peeks of your business. There really is nothing more wonderful than stumbling upon beautiful instagram accounts, other than of course sharing them with you. In no particular order, here are a few of my favourite new feeds that I stumbled upon recently, they’re beyond stunning and I’ve no doubt that you’ll be a fan of their work in no time. Also don’t forget that you can also follow Made From Scratch on Instagram too, I hope you all have a gorgeous weekend planned. x

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a truly wonderful weekend and were able to get outside and enjoy the amazing weather! I have to admit I’m having a bit of trouble trying to start this week off after having such a wonderfully lazy weekend catching up with friends and building a beautiful new garden bed! So I thought what would be better motivation than a stunning workspace to help ease you back into the working week that the hugely talented Stylizimo styled for Ferm Living! The soft neutral pallet with hints of metallic, black and of course the incredibly clever use of a cloths rack to display magazines or lights really is far too perfect for words! x
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a really lovely weekend! You’ve no doubt guessed from all of my photos of flowers that I’ve become a little obsessed with gardens lately – they’re just so pretty, and of course incredibly rewarding when learning how to become a green thumb pays off and your garden grows some beautiful blooms! To say that I’m completely head over heals in love with this stunning secret garden wedding by Feather and Stone is a little bit of an understatement – everything is beyond perfect and it really does look like something straight out of a Jane Austin novel or of course The Secret Garden it’s self! I’ve no doubt that if we were able to go back in time and re-do our wedding I’d have a garden wedding, it’s just so magical! You can of course see more of this absolutely beautiful wedding by Feather and Stone here. x
There really is something so incredibly magical about Spring, especially getting to enjoy the fleeting season of beautiful Cherry Blossoms. My gorgeous hubby, Kora and I spent a lazy Saturday morning wandering around the gorgeous Auckland Botanic Gardens - I love going to the gardens, they’re always so inspiring and you come home wanting to dig up your back yard asap and have flower beds everywhere! We fell madly in love with the absolutely stunning Spring Blossom Valley, there really are no words to describe just how magical it is seeing these blooms. If you’re looking for something to do on a lazy Spring day, I couldn’t recommend wandering around the Botanic Gardens enough, it really is the perfect start to any weekend. x
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a really wonderful weekend. Mine was total bliss, I spent a great deal of time pottering in our garden and giving it a good tidy up after winter and of course getting it ready for the warmer months. I have to admit I’ve become a little obsessed with our gardening at the moment, it’s just so lovely to get out side and of course see the rewards from all your hard work with beautiful blooms and delicious herbs and vegetables – it really is so wonderful!
I’m also beyond excited to share a few gorgeous images from our recent Flower Bomb Workshop at Studio 46 that was run by the amazing and very talented Amber from Red Creative and Annie O – I’d never made a flower bomb before so it was such a wonderful evening creating beautiful little flower bombs and of course learning the tricks of the trade with a group of very lovely ladies, easily the nicest way to spend a chilly winters evening. You can of course see more of these gorgeous images from Sutherland Kovach on the amazing Hello May blog who so kindly featured the workshop! Of course if you’re keen to learn how to make your own beautiful flower bomb or attend any of our other workshops, be sure to take a peek at our schedule. x
And of course a very special thank you to our sponsors!
I fell head over heels in love with peonies before our wedding and simply had to have them along side ranunculus in my bouquets – they really are the most beautiful flower and I’m yet to meet someone who doesn’t adore them! I stumbled upon this really lovely interview on Kinfolk that shared some tips for growing your own peonies, which for anyone who loves to potter in the garden would find really helpful – plus their peony nursery is far too amazing for words! I’m itching with excitement for the weather and soil to warm up a little so I can get back into the garden and make a beautiful flower bed, and of course to see how the few peonies and ranunculus bulbs that I planted at the start of winter are going. I’d love to hear of any tips and tricks that you might have to growing these beautiful flowers, I can’t wait to have a whole garden bed full of them! x
