Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Mine was spent inside with my poor hubby who’s been battling a terribly cold, relaxing and doing a little baking. Those who have been generous enough to follow Made From Scratch over the years will know that I have a deep love for baking, I find it enormously relaxing and of course there really is nothing like filling your home with the smell of baking, and then sharing it with loved ones, it’s just divine.

You may have also noticed that my hubby and I are doing the Fit24 Challenge this month – which is eeek, all about lowing the amount of sugar that you eat. It was not at all easy for me to cut back the amount of sugar that I eat, for me the hardest part was going out for dinners or having people over. I love the social aspect around dessert, sharing a delicious slice of cake with friends while out for coffee or dinner, or gossiping over cookies straight from the oven is complete bliss for me. I oddly didn’t get massive cravings or headaches, I just wanted to go out with friends and have dessert. Annoyingly, after 16 days of sugar free living I feel really good, my skin has cleared up, I’m more alert and just generally in a happier mood. Bummer huh! So I thought that seeing as I’m trying this whole sugar free living out for a month I would share a delicious and simple sugar free Chocolate and Almond Cookie recipe that is sure to beat any cravings you may have. What Folk Eat


You may have noticed a little exciting news over on Instagram lately – there is a very exciting new foodie community that the truly amazing Bianca from Sunday Folk has just started. It’s called What Folk Eat and the idea behind this lovely venture is to create a community of people who love to bake, cook and share delicious recipes with others – it can be any type of recipe, from a personal favourite, one that has been handed down, or something deliciously new! Bianca has also added the most wonderful touch to this already beautiful idea, once you’ve register here to be apart of What Folk Eat and she will partner you up with another foodie where you will then exchange parcels along with the recipe and anything else food related that you wish to send – anything from a cute cooking utensil to a beautiful tea towel. And then of course share your parcel and delicious new recipe on your Instagram account using the hashtag #whatfolkeat or blog.

IMG_0142 There really is something so perfect about the combination of classic Tip Top Vanilla Ice Cream, salty peanut butter and sweet caramel – it’s just magic really! Aside from the weather bomb that’s predicted for this weekend, we’ve been so spoilt with the most amazing warm Autumn weather, which of course still calls for delicious summer treats in my mind. So I thought I’d whip up these wonderfully simple and ridiculously delicious Peanut Butter and Caramel Ice Creams that are a cinch to make and will keep long enough in the freezer for whenever you’re wanting a sweet treat. The best part is that you can of course make your own flavour combinations, anything from all chocolate with maltesers, to vanilla with strawberry sauce and peanuts – the choices really are endless! Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a lovely weekend – we had such a wonderfully relaxing and lazy weekend, we worked out it was the first weekend we didn’t have to be somewhere, paint something, or landscape something for the first time since the start of the year, it was bliss! We also decided that after such a busy start to the year we should take a little more time out to just enjoy things and slow down a little – and creating a little outdoor picnic in your back yard or favourite park is the easiest way to do that! It doesn’t have to be much, just a couple of comfy outdoor cushions, cute wooden cutlery, amazing food and of course your closest friends and family! It all sounds so perfect, I think I might have to plan a lazy autumn picnic for this weekend. x

24 I feel terrible, I haven’t shared a wedding in quite a while, so I’m beyond honoured to share Christine and Kevin’s beautiful French Bay Yacht Club Wedding photographed by the incredibly lovely and talented Lavara O’Hanlon Photography! nutella-french-crepes A few years ago while we were living in England we celebrated Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day, I’d never heard of this magical day before and have been quietly celebrating it ever since – it’s just such a good idea! So in honour of the most delicious ‘holiday’ I thought I would whip up a batch of wonderfully simply French Crepes, and of course top these paper thin treats with a little Nutella and freeze dried strawberries!
