I had such a lovely and incredibly overwhelming response from my Christmas Ice Cream Cake that I simply had to make another – plus I love how easy they are to make and of course are a delicious change to traditional Christmas baking. I served this at a party we had on the weekend to celebrate the end of Ben’s MBA, it disappeared before it even had a chance to melt and within seconds everyone was asking for the recipe – which is always the highest of compliments to any baker. For those who adore the richness of Christmas puddings, you’ll absolutely love this recipe, the caramel ice cream, christmas spices, mixed fruit, chocolate and of course cherries really are the most wonderful combination – and the best part is that you can whip this up a few days before Christmas as it will keep just like ice-cream. Happy Christmas baking everyone. xo

I’m so thrilled to share this incredible little boys party that the very talented Dots n Spots styled – I could only imagine how excited and amazed a group of boys (young or old!) would be walking into a party like this, it’s just amazing! Everything for this construction themed party was so perfectly thought out, from the hard hats and boots for everyone on arrival, construction themed games and of course the most wonderful dessert table complete with a digger cake! I’ve no doubt that this party was the absolute dream for a group of very lucky boys and one incredibly special birthday boy! Happy Friday everyone, I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week so far and are looking forward to a lovely weekend! I’m beyond honoured and so excited to share Mel from All The Frills daughters amazing 2nd birthday party – I could easily gush on forever about this incredible party, from the amazing table settings, delicious dessert tables and of course the most gorgeous play house you’ll ever see, complete with unicorns and pink flamingos it really would be every little girls dream party! So much so that I already have Mel booked for all our of future kiddies birthday parties, I’m yet to meet anyone who can style a party like Mel! You might remember Sienna’s incredible 1st birthday party last year, that was also captured by the wonderful Jel Photography, it was so amazing and I’m already dying to see what Mel will create for Sienna’s 3rd birthday – I’ve not doubt it will be too beautiful for words! I hope everyone has a really lovely weekend planned. x
Today I had the absolute honour of delivering this gorgeous Chocolate and Vanilla Ombre Pallet Layer Cake to one of the loveliest ladies I’ve ever met for her birthday party this evening. Before we get to the cake, I simply must to tell you about the absolutely stunning mirrored cake stand I had the honour working with – it’s been in Tyler’s family for over 50 years and was even used by her Grandfather for his 21st and is now being used for hers, how gorgeous and lovely is that! I was so excited to make this ombre pallet cake for her, it’s such a gorgeous technique and looks amazing with the dusty pink peachy icing – which of course looks so lovely atop her family’s beautiful heirloom cake stand! Happy Birthday Tyler, I hope you’ve had a fantastic birthday! x

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend – ours was wonderfully lazy, after a rather intense week last week. I’m beyond honoured and so so excited to share this absolutely stunning tea party that Mel from All the Frills very generously gave away and styled for 6 lovely ladies to celebrate her gorgeous business turning one! I was beyond flattered when Mel asked me to be apart of this lovely afternoon and provide some yummy treats for everyone – the centre piece of course was a delicious Vanilla Bean and Lemon Curd Layer Cake, you simply must try it, it’s so perfect! Mel wanted the tea party to be light, fresh and airy and as always she did the most amazing job, everything from the delicious tea station, beautiful table settings, flowers and gorgeous goodie bags – I wish you could have seen this afternoon tea in person it really was too perfect for words. Be sure to take a peek at Mel’s gorgeous blog here for more beautiful images of her stunning afternoon tea party! x
Oh wow, it’s so hard to believe that three years ago today I started Made From Scratch – my gorgeous hubby encouraged me to start a blog in the lead up to our wedding and by the time I’d finished cooking dinner he’d built Made From Scratch! We never ever in a million years thought that it would become what it is today and we have you to thank for that, without all of your amazing and very generous support none of this would have been possible and I cant possibly thank you enough! So to celebrate, I thought that I would share this absolutely stunning dessert table from Knot & Pop via 100 Layer Cake – I’m now on the hunt for a neon sign just like this, it’s far too perfect for words! And of course, no birthday is complete without a delicious birthday cake – be sure to take a peek at the collection of cakes I’ve made over the years, I’m sure there will be something there that you will love. Again thank you all so so much for everything, here’s to another three amazing years of Made From Scratch! x
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a really lovely relaxing weekend. I spent a lot of the weekend pottering in the kitchen whipping up lots of goodies for a beautiful afternoon tea party that the hugely talented Mel from All the Frills hosted and styled for 6 very lovely ladies. I can’t wait to show you all the photos from the tea party, everything really was far too perfect for words! I can however share a sneak peek of it and of course the delicious Vanilla Bean and Lemon Curd Layer Cake that I made – it’s such a lovely cake and the perfect chance to use the last of the delicious winter lemons before we head into spring. x
