Blue-Petal-Layer-CakeHappy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a glorious weekend. I spent yesterday admiring the gorgeous Grand Wedding Show with some very lovely ladies and my amazing friend who’s getting married this winter, it was such a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! If you were in Auckland, did you manage to go? It was overflowing with so many stunning vendors! Oh, I also stumbled upon this lovely Pastel Blue Petal Chocolate Layer Cake that I’d made for a sweet baby shower a while ago – I love re-finding pretty images hidden on my computer, it’s such a lovely surprise! I still adore how soft the blue is, it’s the perfect hue to match a delicious chocolate layer cake. x

st-particks-dayOh, today couldn’t get any better! Not only is it St Patricks Day where all things green are celebrated. It’s also my wonderful husband Ben’s Birthday –  I’m pretty sure he has the best birthday ever, as everyone is celebrating and happy! It’s also the perfect time to bake delicious goodies that are a little Irish, last year I made Ben the most delicious Chocolate Guinness Cake, this year he asked for Anzac Biscuits, bless. I couldn’t resist sharing these gorgeous, and very clever, Shamrock Macarons from Raspberri Cupcakes they’d be the perfect little treat to enjoy with a glass of baileys – or of course a glass, or two, of birthday Guinness. x

There really is something magical about a simple, yet elegant dessert table. I love how it’s not overly cluttered and that the cakes, flowers and gorgeous props are able to shine through – plus the colour palette is perfect! Beautifully styled by the very talented Leanne from Sweet Style, this really is such a lovely dessert table. x

I love this time of the year, Christmas and holiday time is just around the corner and we are spoilt for choice with lots of delicious summer berries! I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for raspberries, they’re just so delicious and they pair beautifully with so many baked goods – I couldn’t think of a more perfect time of the year to whip up a few batches raspberry curd to add to your cakes, cupcakes or even give as a gift for the baker in your family. x

With Christmas just around the corner I’ve been thinking of things to bake, I’m not a fan at all of the traditional fruit cake, it’s just too heavy for me. But angel food cake, now this is the yummiest lightest cake you will ever try, it was the main cake for the gorgeous neutral dessert table that I worked on with Coralee, All the Frills and Toodles Noodles a while ago. This light airy and oh so delicious cake would be the perfect way to end a family Christmas lunch or dinner with some sweet fresh berries sprinkled on top for a little Christmas cheer. x

A couple of weeks ago I had the absolute honour and pleasure of making three delicious cakes for Anneke and Mau’s wedding! I loved that their colour theme was peach and white but that they also wanted a rustic feel to it – that’s where the yummy exposed banana cake came in! Congratulations Anneke and Mau on you’re beautiful wedding day and again thank you so very much for letting me be apart of your special day. x
